Teaching and learning takes place when there is an interaction of communication between the teacher and student, which awakens a student's interest of inquiry. The goals and expectations I have for teaching are related to the aim of education is to give students a comprehension of his or her own times in order to broaden their understanding about the world they live in. The aim to improve a student's social relations and validate other student's history, language, and cultural traditions is to make them agents of change and good citizens of the world. Lastly, I hope to instill in students the meaning of accountability and personal responsibility; which will only enhance their spirituality and importance of the human condition. Professional Commitment Salesian provides an environment to develop student excellence; spiritually, academically, and socially. Teachers in collaboration with parents, students and the community stay updated by engaging in self-reflection and development; with this in mind let me share my personal goals for this year with you. 1.Communication; to increase communication between parents and students. 2. To provide alternate assessments; projects, various writing assignments, and presentations. 3. To improve the use of technology in the classroom and incorporate challenging projects with students.( This includes interdisciplinary projects with both the math and english programs) 4. Examine other forms of pedagogical strategies. (Aside from the Socratic pedagogy, I have also incorporated repetitive redundancy-reading, writing, and discussion). 5.
