Our music instructor, Mr. Richard Mata recently wrote a piece that was featured in the most recent issue of Loyola Marymount University Magazine highlighting Mariachi Plaza and the influence of Mariachi music in our neighborhood. When not teaching, Mr. Mata serves at the Executive Director of The Mariachi Conservatory, a non-profit organization that provides music instruction to the Boyle Heights community.
