Onward Scholars Program

A Message from the Program Director 

 

My name is Edgar Alonso and I have the blessed opportunity to serve as the Program Director for the Onward Scholars Program at Bishop Mora Salesian High School. The Onward Scholars Program is a competitive scholarship and enrichment program for selected high school students with strong academic backgrounds which provides a unique four-year pathway to success for exceptional students who demonstrate great promise, motivation, and impactful leadership. The three main components of the Onward Scholars Program are scholarship, mentorship, and college access. The Onward Scholars Program offers each of its scholars:

 

  • 75% tuition scholarship for four years (equivalent to over a $30,000 scholarship)
  • $2,000 stipend to be used over the four years to pursue the scholar’s interest and passions
  • Full-time onsite Director who serves as a mentor to each Scholar at the school 
  • Enrichment activities, retreats, community service, college visits and leadership activities
